Building Division Provides Guidance on COVID-19 Occupancy Limits

(Carson City, NV)

The Carson City Building Division is providing information to businesses and others on how to comply with the Governor’s emergency directive 033, which provides for limitation on occupancy for businesses, gatherings and other areas. The directive limits occupancy to 50 percent of what building and fire codes allow.

The following is a quick guide on occupancy limits for most businesses under the restrictions of directive 003.

Business Supply Assistance

Through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, Carson City was able to purchase personal protective equipment, including sanitizer, disposable gloves and masks, hand sanitizer, sanitizer stands, and cleaning solution in order to create a stock of supplies for Carson City businesses. These items are available and will continue to be distributed until stocked items are gone. Orders must be made online, for application assistance call (775) 887-2100.

Business Supply Assistance Form

In addition, on November 19, 2020, the City began issuing reimbursements for commercial portable heaters purchased by the City’s businesses under the condition that the heater specifications were approved by the Carson City Fire Prevention Division. The deadline for funding used for reimbursement was December 30, 2020. Businesses that purchased commercial portable heaters on November 19, 2020 through December 30, 2020 may be eligible for reimbursement. All requests for reimbursement for the heaters need to be submitted by January 22, 2021.
